What do you prefer? book or movie

December 5th, 2010 by

I prefer to watch the movie first because the movie cam be more thrilling and you can easily distinguish how the character is feeling. Then I read the book so I can get more information if I miss any in the movie.

Coment on this post about book vs movie because I want to know your opinion.

A Thrilling Holiday

November 19th, 2010 by

Two men walked into a small grotty building. A short man swung around in his chair and said,” I’ve been expecting you”  while patting his large fluffy cat that was almost as big as him he picked up a small pocket knife and threw it across the room it hit a picture on the wall of the president Barrack Obama. “Eliminate him,” the short man yelled while pointing at the knifed picture. The two men looked at each other as as if they will do a good job. Meanwhile in the presidents office the president was planing a holiday in Tahiti. “I will need 3 ninjas to protect me during my holiday,” announced Barrack Obama. When they arrived at Tahiti a woman greeted them “Welcome to Tahiti,” the woman said cheerfully as she put a necklace of flowers around everyone’s neck. The three ninjas and Barrack Obama crept stealthily to their cabins near the beautiful beaches to make sure that no one noticed that they were there.  Later that night the ninjas were patrolling the beach while Barrack Obama had a nice relaxing swim. After about forty five minutes the short man and his two Hench men slowly emerge from the water. The battle begins, the short man yells to his hench men “Take out the ninjas, we’ll get Barrack later”  The two hench men run towards a ninja, the ninja turns around and run up a cliff face and backflips over the hench men and smacks their heads together, the the ninja runs off. After a few seconds the hench men get up and fly kick a different ninja in the stomach. Several minutes later the ninja got up while the hench men were looking for the first ninja. The second ninja finds the hench men and strikes one of the with a sickening blow closely followed by a swift headbutt. The other hench man runs away quickly behind a few massive boulders where he was clothslined by the first ninja. Meanwhile Barrack Obama was being chased by the short man threw the main part of the resort. He dived into a deep pool. A tall man dressed in all black helped the pesident out of the pool. “Come with me sir” said the man, the president looked up and it was the third ninja. The short man struggled slowly out of the pool. The ninja chucked the short man back into the pool. “Your never going to get out of here alive,” screamed the short man as he swallowed lots of water. The third ninja and Barrack Obama ran away laughing at the short man. Down at the beach the first and second ninja had the two hench men cornerd but one of the ninjas has a serious wound on their stomach. All of a sudden, the second ninja falls to the ground and the first ninja quickly dropps to his knees and insures that the second ninja is okay, but the two henchmen get away while he’s doing that. The second ninja pulls out a throwing knife and throws it into a henchman’s back killing him instantly. . .

But there are still two badguys alive…

Can you come up with your own ending to my story in one-hundred words or less? The best one I will publish to finish my story.

Be sure to sign your work so  that i know who to thank…

The last step to become a saint you have to be credited with 2 miracles.People are trying to find one more miracle, if they do Mary Mackillop will officially be Australia’s first saint.

Mary Mackillop opened the first free catholic school at Penola in South Australia. Then she opened lots more schools around Australia, most of these schools were named St. Joseph’s Catholic School and many more schools were named in her honour.

Book Report September

October 3rd, 2010 by

In the past few weeks I have been reading Simpson’s Comics. I found them very amusing, it was a very easy read. I would suggest reading the book if you are ages between 9 and 13. It took me a few days to read this book. My favourite Simpson character is Homer. There is about 2 or 3 different stories mainly based on Bart and Homer. I thought the pictures were bright and colourful wich made it more enjoyable

Camp Report

September 29th, 2010 by

On May the 5th to the 7th our school went to camp at woodfield lodge. I was in a cabin with most of my friends. We stayed up talking on all three nights. I had lots of fun on the trampolines, billy carts, the orienteering thing  and the game room. On the trampolines I retaught myself to do a front flip, in the games room my friends and I played air hockey and I won a few times. Later on we went for a walk at made shelters out of  large bits of wood. In our cabin there was a wombat that that snuck in, I thought it was huge. The last day of camp we all had a five way tug of war.Copy of IMG_0027

Literacy Goals

July 4th, 2010 by

For literacy my goals in spelling, reading, writing, viewing and listening.

  • Spelling: In spelling I would like to improve so I can get at least 16 right in the next spelling group.
  • reading: With my reading I want to read more books without struggling on words and pausing at times I shouldn’t.
  • Writing: My goals in writing will be to  make my writing neater and to write faster so I can complete all my work.
  • Viewing: When I am viewing I would like to take more note of things so I can get better grades.
  • Listening: I want to listen and not get distracted so easily.

Micro Bats

May 17th, 2010 by

Little+Forest+Bat+in+gloveBats are delicate creatures. There are these tiny bats known as micro bats, which might live in our yards, you would be lucky to find one. It turns out that these bats are really shy.  They send out sounds that we can’t hear, these sounds echo off objects and come back so the bat knows where he or she is. You can’t tell me that’s not cool. These bats feed on insects, a study has shown that one micro bat can eat 600 mosquitoes in an hour. So they have an important role in the ecosystem. They have been left with less places to rest as trees in the city are cut down. So they have enlisted a whole heap of people to track down how many micro bats are left.

Literacy

April 12th, 2010 by

I’m not such a good reader because I don’t practice, the only sorts of books I like are funny books such as the bad book, the cat on the mat is flat and zombie bums from Uranus. my favourite authors are Paul Jennings and Andy Griffiths.

I don’t think my spelling is great, but I think it is alright, somehow I spell hard words easily, but I make mistakes in easier words.

I think that I’m fairly good at speaking to an individual, but not as well to a group. The pronunciation of most of my words is good.

I think my viewing is fairly good but I tend to notice things I shouldn’t.

When I write stories I think it is enough and just need telling thats not enough and do a bit more.

Sometimes I go into my own little world and don’t listen to anyone and just need a tap on the sholder, but that doesn’t happen that often.
